Can you fix a door that came off its track?

Usually, yes. A door that has jumped the track often needs the track straightened and the rollers replaced, and it is important not to force it back into place yourself, because a door is heavy and a bent track can let it fall.

How long does a garage door spring last?

Most springs are rated for a set number of cycles, and a typical household door cycles several times a day. A well-used door may need springs replaced within a decade, sooner in a cold climate where the metal works harder. If one spring on a two-spring door breaks, both are usually replaced together.

Can I install a garage door myself?

We strongly advise against it. Torsion springs are under extreme tension and can cause serious injury, and a door that is not properly balanced burns out openers and can fall. Professional installation is safer and usually cheaper than fixing a failed DIY job.

Both. We supply and install insulated and non-insulated doors in wood, steel, aluminum and vinyl. If your existing door is beyond economic repair, we will tell you honestly and quote a replacement.

Contact us and we will give you an honest answer. As a rule, a single failed component on a structurally sound door is almost always worth repairing. A door with rotted framing, widespread panel damage, or repeated failures across multiple years is usually better replaced.
